Discover your voice!
Are you ready for college? Our program imparts a spirit of daring, curiosity, and joy to campers along with expert training in theater. And we produce dynamic shows in just two weeks! You will make friends, grow as an artist, and find your voice as an actor. Summer Camp 2024 will run from Sunday, July 13 (arrival day) to Saturday, July 26 (departure day), and our show will be on Friday, July 25!
Who are we and what do we do?
Your camper will work with our Shakespeare in Performance troupe, which is a community of student artists, who collaborate to create unique shows featuring contemporary music and dance. Camp will bring out the potential of young actors by offering a glimpse into our troupe’s passion for performing Shakespeare. We believe that, alongside other creative and driven artists, discovering the world of theater is something exciting, enriching, and transformative.
What do we offer?
Our space includes a black box theater and distinctive thrust stage. Campers, grades 9 - 12, receive professional coaching in voice, dramaturgy, movement, and a common artistic vocabulary of acting as a gift of self. Our training is applied in rehearsals and in the performance of a one-hour show, which we prepare in just two weeks! Campers will be cast the day after they arrive. There will be daily periods of free time, improv games, and one vacation day off-campus and even at the beach (weather permitting)!
Where are we?
Our troupe and summer camp are housed at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida. We are located close to Naples and its famous beaches. Campers will have a chance to preview college life (in a nurturing, supervised environment!) while they attend the program on campus. Our admission and student life policies follow the University’s standards and our staff includes current undergraduates.
